The cryptocurrency exchange has become the sleeve sponsor of the club’s official kit.
Sports sponsorships are becoming a preferred marketing channel for cryptocurrency companies as many high-profile deals are being inked. BitMEX has become the latest to announce its partnership with the famous Italian football club, AC Milan.
According to the official press release, BitMEX is sponsoring the AC Milan men’s and women’s teams, as well as the club’s esports team, AQM.
Under the agreement between the two, the logo of the crypto derivatives exchange will be displayed on the sleeves of the players of all three teams. Further, the exchange will get the status of the Official Cryptocurrency Trading Partner of the Rossoneri.
“Our partnership with AC Milan is the start of a hugely exciting new chapter for BitMEX as we look to ramp up brand awareness and increase understanding of crypto,” said Alexander Höptner, CEO of BitMEX.
Indeed, the football club is one of the oldest and largest in Italy with a rich history in the game. Putting the BitMEX logo on the sleeves of the team will put the brand in front of millions of football fans worldwide.
Additionally, the deal was inked just ahead of the upcoming 2021-2022 football season. Though the announcement mentioned that it is a ‘multi-year partnership’, the exact tenure or the financial terms of the deal are not known.
